I just thought some people, okay maybe I could name them on one hand, some people might be interested in how ontologies and treebanks are being used on another religious text. The Quranic Arabic Corpus
Great tree. Now I'd be interested in a tree for the DSS.
i suppose I could do one, but why invent the wheel when somebody else did the "hard" work.
mm.
Thank you very much, M.J. I'm out of my depth, but as a non-techie and (almost) lifelong student of Hebrew, and therefor a debtor to Andersen-Forbes, this is truly fascinating.
I am only in Hebrew I and Greek II, but I have been very intriqued by the Tree modules (seems like I have a cantilation tree or something). They are difficult to figure out own my own, and I cannot seem to grasp how to copy/paste them (the Trees) into, say, Word or Key Note (?). I use a MacBook Air & iPad.
Not on Mac so I can't debug the copy issues. To figure the trees out

Excellent! Thank you much 👍.
Wow! Thanks a milliion, MJ! I wish we had better Quran analysis capabilities within Logos, but now I can at least have a shortcut to something helpful.
Wowsie! That first link from Stanford is a heavy read. Slowly trying to work through it. I am wondering if I download their parsing software if it would be applicable to biblical texts (?). I already have a couple of OT trees so not even sure if the Stanford model would help any. Plan to read this again slowly 🤓.
I wonder how much development effort it would take to integrate via the provided API?:http://corpus.quran.com/java/overview.jsp

I have an immediate use for that. Thanks.

My apologies - since retirement I've been taking modeling and natural language processing classes through Coursera ... leaves me a bit light on references that are truly introductory. [:(]

No, no, I meant to communicate that it is very challenging reading (which I absolutely love!). Wish I had a better grasp on trees and diagramming. I have the entire Greek NT diagrammed, but don’t fully comprehend the system yet.
I declare that I must be addicted to biblical language study. It ALWAYS catches my attention.

My favorite diagram is one where:
Awesome MJ.! Love that site. Adding it to my usual go-to sites. Just came across Bible Mesh site the other day at the suggestion of Dr. Naselli (currently taking his NT Exegesis mobileEd course). (They are a bit too theological & pricey for my taste though, but still an excellent site.)
I suspect that trees and diagrams are above my pay grade right now as a mere Greek II and Hebrew I student. So far, I seem to be catching onto Hebrew better than I did Greek I.
I completely agree w. your assessment of preferred diagrams. Easy to follow, esp. w. an interlinear. I was attempting to follow along w. recent posts in BibleArc last night, but, again, it’s soooo frustrating not being able to trek along w. their arcs.
I would love to be able to comprehend the tree-jargon (I don’t even understand the abbreviations ☺️) and diagram concepts. That would be great for public polemics (debates) and for Bible classes here at the church I pastor (yes, we regularly post interlinears & NA28 on the screen...although I am really liking UBS-5 now). Would even pay a tutor to help me get started (I already keep one Greek prof. on a small monthly pay for when I get stuck).
For now, I will keep plugging through my courses on Hebrew & Greek.
