When did this sneak on. It was not there yesterday. Up to 80% already. http://www.logos.com/communitypricing/details/6492
When did this sneak on.
Actually it is over the top.
Not at 80% now....its over at 8 dollars....Wow! Now that was Fast!!!!!
At 27 pages total the production cost must have been miniscule.
At 27 pages, the MSRP and prepub amounts seem pricey. On kindle-like vendor gives this one away for free.
You can read it here: http://www.archive.org/stream/antithesisbetwee00kuyp#page/n5/mode/2up
It's actually only about 20 pages of text. I don't know where they got the 27 pages from...the last page in the book is 24.
Wow! That came from out of nowhere. I just bid at $6 which is the going price, and it looks like it could go down to $5 soon. Even $4 isn't beyond the realm of possibility by the closing date of 6/11, as it's already 80% to that mark!
It took 20 minutes to reach $4 after you posted this [:P]
Thanks for the heads-up. Grabbed it immediately. It's down to $4 already, and likely to go down further (if that's even possible).
(BTW, I see your message count is back up, Lynden.)

Thats because I threatened to join the riot, even though I do not know where it is, or if it even exists. A good example that Logos listens to its customers. [:D]

Wow! It's now down to $3. Do I hear $2? Could we possibly make this the first book ever in CP to reach the lowest end of the price scale? Can you imagine? $1 for a $29.95 book! C'mon everyone. Order this. It's by Kuyper, after all! He was " the most influential Dutch Reformed thinker and politician of the last century." He was prime minister of the Netherlands, founded the Free University in Amsterdam, "was instrumental in the development of Neocalvinism, and is remembered for his articulation of common grace and for popularizing the notion of a Reformed worldview. He has influenced such notable figures as Francis Schaeffer, Cornelius Van Til, Alvin Plantinga, Nicholas Wolterstorff, and Chuck Colson."
This would be a fine addition to the Kuyper Collection, a couple of titles of which recently were in the March Madness sale, but the whole set is available for $49.95 (still an awesome deal compared to the SRP of $114.95).

I put a $2 bid in. [:D]
Really, there's no way this pamphlet is worth $30 or even $20 (and I've purchased other Kuyper stuff). It's approaching an appropriate sale price now.
Yes, you're right. I shouldn't have been so suckered by the marketing ploy. Even the projected pre-pub price of $19.95 is ridiculous, so people should get it now while they can. Somewhere around $1 - $3 seems fair. With the ease of us getting the price down in just a few hours, I bet the production cost on this one is negligible. I can't imagine many people bid the full $17 for it, yet the sum of them is showing about 62% of cost.
I can't imagine many people bid the full $17 for it, yet
.. The fact that people bid $17.00 for this tells me that P.T. Barnum was probably right.

Having just read though this work online (you can do it in 15 minutes), I have lowered my bid to $1. [:P] (It's short enough that one could probably paste the text in a note file for free--plus it has no references or footnotes that require special tagging).
People routinely overbid for an item to push it over the top, or, I suspect, in the mistaken belief that bidding $17 will equal 17 people bidding $1. They do this fully believing they'll never spend the $17, or will cancel their order, if it goes for that much.
Note: this is not necessarily a refutation of Mr. Barnum's view of humanity.
I'm not sure where this came from. We went out of town over the weekend (no internet) and when I come back the book is at $2. Just placed my bid. I hope it reaches $1.
I love Kuyper, but even still am only willing to do $1 (maybe $2). The fact that Logos puts the prepub and suggested prices where they did causes them to lose all credibility they may have had in regards to those fields. Come on, Logos, I love you, but, really?
Let's make it one dollar! That would be crazy.[:D] IF you haven't bid...BID. What do you have to lose?
What do you have to lose?
A dollar. [:P]
If you search on A***n they have the hardback book listed for 29.99 plus 3.99 for shipping. I agree it is a lot for a 30 page book, but Logos' suggested retail price of 29.95 is inline with other retailers. I would not pay $30 for this book, but I will pay a dollar or two.
That's an Amazon marketplace seller, who, it appears, is using a print-on-demand service to generate these books. Note the "Item prints and ships in 10 days" portion of the description. Print-on-demand services are expensive, and combined with the arbitrary price set by the seller makes that price meaningless for comparison to Logos related prices. If Logos is using Amazon price lists for their suggested retail price, I would hope that the marketplace prices are not being used blindly.
I'm in for $2.
When did this sneak on. Actually it is over the top.
I've never seen one of these CP items go over the line like this one, it's humorous to me for some odd reason.
A few more bids and it goes for a dollar. They have extended the deadline to June 11. How low can it go?
I'm glad I'm getting it now. $30 seems a little steep for 27 pages.
The price is $1.
Even though it's not on the chart, I don't suppose it's possible to drop the price to 50 cents?
