"Word Ring" info cards in canvas are not helpful if the selected word is associated with the definit

In the canvas feature, you can drag in a bible word ring for a selected word. However, if a word is preceded by a definite article, it only shows the word ring for the article. (It does show "original language" info cards for both the article and the selected word.)
Is there any way to get the word ring for the selected word to show up in the info cards?
