When I send a Passage List to a sermon, I cannot name the sermon with the same name as the Passage List. It adds (2) to the title. Since they are different document types, it should be possible to use the same name for both.
Harry,
I'm sorry if this is inconvenient, but this is not a bug. We have never allowed the ability to have two documents, regardless of type, with the same title. This was the case in L6 and L7.
One workaround I've found useful is to add to the beginning (or the end) of each title the Document Type | Name, so as an example I might use Sermon | God's Grace and Passage List | God's Grace. An alternative would be God's Grace | Sermon or God's Grace (Sermon) and God's Grace | Passage List or God's Grace (Passage List). You could even use abbreviations like God's Grace (S) and God's Grace (PL).
We have never allowed the ability to have two documents, regardless of type, with the same title.
This is a surprising limitation. Since they are different document types, there is no basis confusion. It would be like not allowing a jpeg and gif file to have the same file name, except for the extension.
I had to go to something like your workaround, but it results in long document names. Long document names are a particular problem in the Visual Filter menu, which often truncates names. I also do not plan to do this for every document -- only when there is duplication.
I know it is not a high priority, but I would like to see this limitation removed.

Hi Harry,
What I did was create a UserVoice request, this will help us measure how useful users would find this. You can add your votes here: https://logos.uservoice.com/forums/42823-logos-bible-software-8/suggestions/36972229-allow-users-to-use-the-same-title-for-different-do
