Problem Generating Footnotes When Copying Text

Last time I saw Logos presented, it showed that if you copy some text from a book or commentary, it would automatically generate a footnote in your document in the citation style of your choice. I can't figure out why my Logos doesn't do this. I've checked the settings, and the option to generate a footnote is selected.
I'm on a Mac running OS Mojave, and I use Pages. When I copy text into other apps the citation is included underneath the copied text, but not in Pages.

That must be a problem Pages. In Word when I copy something from Logos, a Footnote with the citation from Logos is created. If I copy the same text into Pages it inserts the citation directly below the copied text
I never use Pages, so I am not familiar enough with the settings that might affect how footnotes are displayed. I suspect Logos it working properly and that this is an issue with Pages.

not in Pages.
Apple made a switch during the last major release of pages which took away developers abilities to create add on features in Pages. This feature broke at that time. [:s]
