How to insert a Bible verse from a specific Bible version in Logos 8 notes

Logos makes it easy to insert a reference to the text from your default Bible by entering only the Bible verse number.  eg.  Jn 3:16.

My question, does anyone know if there is a syntax you can use to specify in Logos 8 to indicate you want the text from an different Bible version? (without having to change your default Bible).  eg. something like "Jn 3:16 | AMP" to pull up the text from the Amplified version of the Bible.

Where are you inserting the reference. Is it a logos document, Word, etc?

When you type the reference in John 3:16 the system recognizes this as a bible reference, and assumes you would like to see it in your preferred Bible.

If you want to see a reference from a different translation you would have to copy a link directly from that resource

In the screen shot below, The first reference in the note is simply typed into the note document. If clicked, it will open to the preferred bible. The second reference is a hyperlink to the verse reference in the Amplified bible.

To get the hyperlink in the Amplified text

    1. Open the resource
    2. Navigate to desired reference
    3. Click the resource menu (three dots at top right)
    4. Click the L4 in the Copy Location As
    5. Either create hyperlinked text or simply paste the copied reference

Thanks a lot Fred.  Thats exactly what I was looking for.  I was aware I can change Bible versions on a per-scripture basis in Sermon editor, but was looking for a quick way to do this in the Notes application.  Using the L4 hyperlink does what I am looking for.  I can hover over the hyperlink and it will pull up the text from that Bible version that I was looking for.

    Blessings.

    Richard.

When I did the L4, in RSV for Prov 3.5-6 and copied that into my text in the Sermon Editor as follows:

    logosres:rsv;ref=BibleRSV.
    Pr3.5-6

I got the option for Tab or Enter for inline or block. When I hit "Enter," it still copied the verse in my default translation, rather than RSV as specified in the link...
