I know I'm overlooking something in the forum or in the Wiki. How do I turn off the function that makes a note every time I highlight something?
Every Highlight is stored as a "note" in the Notes tool. That is the way they are documented, and it started before Logos 7. In the tool, you can make it appear as a Note by adding a Note icon and some text, or just add some text.
It's the way it works, but if you want to use it creatively you could develop a tagging system to go with things you are studying. This way through the faceted browsing in the Notes you can find it easily later.
For instance, I was reading a lot of Second Temple stuff recently. So I would highlight an interesting tidbit on the Pharisees and in the note tag "Pharisees" and "Second Temple" and if I found a good summary "Summary" I can narrow down my search on "Summary" and see summaries on "Essenes" "Sadducees" etc
By combining these tags in search I can find what I found interesting in my study. This may help see the power of a highlight creating a note (?)
LOL- I wish they would allow you to dump the so-called notes function.
I don't understand. We don't need to use Notes.
