Yay!! No more amnesia!

My temporary case of amnesia has been overcome by returning to my old, nearly defunct email address. Yesterday my forum history vanished because I updated my email address to something useful. I understand why FL uses our email to identify us, but it doesn't make it any less of a bad idea. Email addresses are ephemeral...we, hopefully, are not.

If you had a slight bit of patience, you wouldn't have had to change back:

your history can be recovered. I have reported this to our technical team so that it can be fixed.

I didn't change mine back and still waiting for my history to catch up. That was over a year ago I changed my email.

Did you request the change? Did a FL employee get back with you? If the answer to either is no, then your experience is what I expect. It doesn't happen automatically. The MVP's used to have a contact for these situations, but that person no longer works for FL.

I'm glad that you mentioned this because i was about to change my email address that I have registered with Logos to the one that I use all the time now. I might hold off based on your experience now. If anybody knows who to contact to preemptively address the issues with changing a user ID, let us know.

Any concerns about losing your forum history due to changing your email address should be raised with Customer Service. This can be done pre-preemptively or after-the-fact.
