Purchased Resource Shows up on iPod, but not on Logos 4 for Mac

I have purchased a resource which shows up on my iPod Touch, but does not show up in Logos. I have run the Update Resources command to no avail. Any wisdom for a frustrated Bible teacher who was hoping to start reading John MacArthur's Commentary on 1 Corinthians on a screen larger than his hand? I know this is Alpha software, but I expected the Purchase feature to work :-)

Hi John

It would be nice if a rudimentary 'Help' menu provided the 'official' solution to your problem.

At the moment two things might help.

1. Don't type 'Update Resources' and hit return - select it positively from the drop down menu.

2. It may be necessary to restart L4 immediately after selecting Update Resources.

3 and just to be sure - you do have A21?

Mike, thanks for your feedback. I did make sure to select the Update Resources from the drop down. It appeared to be positively selected. Did this a few times, each time with a restart of L4a21.

After selecting Update Resources from drop down, can open (watch) logos4.log - once selected couple lines should appear:

2010-06-06 22:23:23.0042 16 Info LibraryCatalogIndex Searching for all records matching: Update resource

2010-06-06 22:23:25.6796 1 Info AppCommand (Timed) Executing command: AutoUpdate|ForceResourceUpdate=true

Note: not copy many lines - requested resource information from Logos servers - listed message for each resource (e.g. "up to date").

Observation: took about a minute to check 1,394 resources with high-speed internet connection.

Learned from forum http://community.logos.com/forums/t/15876.aspx that Logos 4 base package, resource purchase, and iPhone device needed for use on iPhone device. Since resource available on iPod Touch, suspect those requirements meet - hence expect Logos 4 resource to be in library (especially after update resources). Possibility: could try searching A21 Library for MacArthur - noted some commentary titles do not include series name - For example, United Bible Societies commentaries have titles beginning "A Handbook on ..." From product search on logos.com, anticipate title "1 Corinthians: The MacArthur NT Commentary" http://www.logos.com/ebooks/details/1comntc

Also noted resource file available for download is 1comntc.lbxlls (another possibility: download file, then use scan <path> where <path> is location of file).

Now that I'm looking, I don't have the typical "Help" menu. I also don't see the update resources option. What drop menu are you referring to?

I'm using L4 a21 Platinum.

If it is like the Windows version, just type "Update" or "Update now" or "Update resources" in the command bar/window.

Don's reply is very close. One thing is different in the Mac version. After you type Update in the command bar, select "Update Now" from the drop down list that appears just below the command bar. For Update Resources, you may have to type the entire command, but unless something has changed in the last Alpha, you will still need to select the command from the drop down list.
