Specific Collections on the tool bar?

I am just wondering if it is possible to put a link to a specfic collection on the toolbar. I have some collections that would be handy to just click on the button. If not its no biggy it would just be cool.

I mean having to click like two more times just wears out my fingers! Big Smile

Have you tried to open the collection window and drag it to the toolbar? I am just saying this because this seems to be the way to get everything else up there. I really do not know if that option is available

John, I opened the 'Collections' window, scruffed a collection from the drop down window, and tried dragging it all over the place. It wouldn't stick anywhere. Nice idea though.

You can drag lots of collections to the toolbar but it will forget the specific collection you put there and default to the first one you dragged there. Even if it did remember each collection, the icons would be the same and so would the name: 'Collections.'

Instead do this: open your favorite pane, drag the collection to the pane and then right click on the word 'Collections' and rename it. Now drag the collection from the favorite pane to the tool bar. While the icons will all be the same for all collections, the name is now what you renamed it and it remembers the collection.

Jonathan, you have to drag the tab that says 'Collections' to the tool bar (or in my suggestion the favorite pane). Be sure the collection you want to open is showing in the collection pane.

Opened my "Bible Handbooks," put mouse on "Collection, dragged it to the tool bar, released mouse, ... voila! It stayed there. Open Collections AND opened to "Bible Handbooks"

Actually was a little surprised that it works, but I had to try it!

It works for the first one, but without doing the work-around I mentioned above, all the ones you drag directly to the toolbar will end up pointing to a single collection no matter where you started.

Mark thanks for your instructions, they are superb. I haven't even looked at favorites up until this point, wow what an oversight. Now I have it where I can use hot keys to get to the collection I desire. Pretty cool stuff!

You can also save searches in Favorites. It will remember all the search criteria. There aren't too many searches I'd save like that, but I can.

Also of note is that in the current Beta you can hyperlink to a specific collection. Thus you can put a hyperlink in notes to your collection of Systematic theologies, or at least you will be able to when the beta turns official.
