God is no respecter of persons, nor am I, but parts of my home page are in a language I can't understand. Is this by design or an accident?
Those are advertisements for Pre-pub resources, and those resources happen to be commentaries that are in Spanish (notice the small grey text -- in English -- that says "Logos Pre-Pubs" under each of those articles). I'm not sure how Logos could determine who would not want to be informed of foreign language resources. Basing it on where someone lives wouldn't be sufficient, as plenty of people in the US know Spanish. Maybe we should fill out checkboxes when we first register, letting Logos know if we want to know about certain types of resources.
I am not opposed to such resources being advertised. All men everywhere need to study the Bible. I just never had noticed this before on the home page.
For those who would like to control what appears on their home page, it would be easy to add a check box to the Customize menu for those who do or do not want to include this content .
That's because these commentaries have been newly announced. There aren't very many pre-pubs in foreign languages, so that's why you'd never noticed such ads before.
Agreed. That would be a good idea. You might want to post that to the Suggestions forum. There is of course already a checkbox on the Customize menu to turn off all advertisement of pre-pubs, but not the fine-grained ability to control whether or not you see foreign language ones.
This screen shot is from the Windows version. I see you're using the Mac version and I have no idea how far along the UI for the Home Page and this Customize menu is on the Mac version.
