Bug or Suggestion: Sermon Editor Scripture Reference

I notice the Sermon Editor automatically finds Scripture references and turns them blue (as if they were a hyperlink). 

However, when I hover over them or click them, nothing happens. I would expect a popup when I hover over a Scripture reference, and opening the reference in a tab when I click on it. 

Is this the intended functionality? If so, why? If not, it would be great to fix this. I use the sermon editor to prepare teachings and I would like to add cross references which I could easily hover over if I needed it.

    This is a bug that has been around a while.

    You may have already discover this, if you type the reference on a line by itself and hit enter, it will automatically insert the text of that verse in passage into the document.
