I unhide my personal book from my program setting hidden resources and can only view my personal book in my library but not in my personal book library. Anyone have this problem? I am using Windows10 Logos 8.3.0.0034.Below is my logos log files.

This is the expected behavior. The "personal book builder tool" is used for creating a book. "Hiding" a book is for hiding an already compiled book. The two are unrelated.

Thought that I go to "personal book builder tool" I can reuse my personal book to rebuild a new book but I can't find my unhide book there. Thank you JT (alabama24) for your reply.

It is not expected behaviour, as the book can still be viewed in the Personal Books tool after it has been hidden. But if you delete the entry in the PB tool, you won't be able to re-compile it!

Dave - If someone has deleted the book in the personal book builder tool, unhiding it under preferences does not make it re-appear. Hence the “expected” behavior. The one has nothing to do with the other.

I agree, as that is a better statement than your original comment, which didn't relate to the OP's actions. That is "expected" behaviour.

"one" is a consequence of the "other"...

Sorry Dave, I'm not following you.

The OP appeared to be asking "Why doesn't the personal book project reappear after it has been deleted when I 'unhide' the compiled file under system preferences?"

The "expected behavior" of the PBB tool is that NOTHING would happen... "unhiding" a book and the "personal book builder tool" are unrelated features.

I apologize if I have misunderstood something. [:s]

Sorry for my poor English which cause misunderstanding. I did not delete my personal book, what my intention is I try to recompile my hidden personal book so what I do:

    1)      Go to program setting > Hidden Resources > unhide one of my book.

    2)      Go to Personal Book tool to looked for my book but was not there.

    Btw appreciate for your reply

So you did not delete the book from the personal book builder tool, but it is missing. Is that right? If "hiding" a book causes the project to disappear from the PBB Tool, I am unaware of that (and think it would be a bug).

Did you mistakenly hide the resource? What caused you to not want the book but want it now?

What happened when you unhid the book(s)  e.g. was it put back in Library?

Are you sure the book was a Personal Book? If it was put back in Library, you can type edition:user in the Find box to list all your PB's.

Yes I can find my unhide personal book in my library but not in my personal book tool library. May I know is it normal?

Either Dave doesn't understand your question, or I don't. Perhaps neither of us do! [:s] Again, my answer is "yes, it is normal." Everything you describe is what I expect to happen. "Hiding" a personal book should not make the book project disappear in the PBB tool. Conversely, "unhiding" it should not make the project reappear.

For clarification and to help you trouble shoot:

    • I hid a personal book I didn't want.
    • I restarted the app.
    • The book was hidden, but still in the personal book builder tool.
    • I deleted the personal book builder project from the PBB tool.
    • I unhid the personal book.
    • I restarted the app.
    • The personal book (which was not uploaded) did not* appear in my library.
    • The personal book builder project did NOT reappear.

All of this is what I expected to happen. *Note: The book reappeared for you but not for me... both are the expected behavior, depending upon if the book had been uploaded. The fact that you uploaded the book and I did not should not have any impact on the book builder project reappearing (or not) in the PBB tool.

David - I re-read your earlier posts and want to clarify something:

Do you mean to say that you did not delete the project from the personal book builder tool? Are you sure that you did not? Can you say for sure when you saw it last in the personal book builder tool?

Thanks for the screen shots. That may help explain the issue. In your second screen shot, you have filtered your personal book builder tool for the personal book. It seems that you are expecting to see the personal book there. However, this comes from a misunderstanding of the personal book builder tool. The PBB tool is NOT a place to view your personal books. Rather, it is a place to view your personal book builder PROJECTS*. The reason you can't find anything in your "step 3" is because the personal book builder project (which corresponds to your personal book in your "step 2") has been deleted. Unless there is a bug somewhere, you deleted that file (perhaps inadvertently).

Since the personal book builder project for this book has been deleted, you will need to start from scratch with a new personal book project. There is no way for you to recompile the current book.

*NOTE: This is my terminology, not necessarily FL's. However, it accurately describes the function of the software.
