Error in AFAT Isa 52:15

The AFAT has הִתְבּוֹנָנוּ the word at the end of Isa 52:15 morphologically tagged as first person plural (which is wrong). The BHS correctly has it as as third person plural. This error exists in both Logos 3 and 4. I reported it as a typo.

Isa 52:13 the word יָרוּם is tagged in AFAT as preterite (simple past tense) but both LHI and BHS say that it is imperfect.

So it seems that there is a lot of inconsistency between the morphological tags of the AFAT and the BHS. Is Logos aware of these errors and is anyone working to fix them?

Yes, I have noted such errors in AFAT. That is the reason I generally only use AFAT for copying text into emails since it doesn't have cantillation which doesn't always reproduce well on the receiver's computer (or doesn't get transmitted properly by some list software). Another alternative is to use BHS but to delete the cantillation, but this is more complex.

I had initially favored the AFAT because I liked the glosses that seem to be missing in the BHS which is frankly odd.

Of course if the AFAT is just plain wrong a lot of the time, that rules it out as a viable resource. What a pity.

I generally use the morphology to confirm a judgment regarding a form which I have already determined. As regards glosses, I wouldn't use any glosses in a popup. If I don't have an adequate conception of the meaning I go to HAL or sometimes BDB. This will give a wider range of choice and will give examples which can be checked for such factors as the genre of the passage, other words with which it is used, the particular form of the word (particularly verbs), etc. If you are going to rely on the glosses alone, you almost might as well simply read an English translation (I disagree totally with Michael Heiser on this).

Wow, the Wikipedia page linked from that site's introduction page tells a whole lot more about Hebrew cantillation marks. I've always ignored them because I had no idea what they were for. I still am not likely to ever want to learn this whole system, but it's fascinating to know it's there.

George, I do understand what you are saying and have a similar work flow. I am simply saying that purely from a software point of view it is odd to have a functionality that is present in every other resource (NA27, LXX, AFAT, etc) not be present in the BHS. That is simply a mistake in the program.

I submitted a typo, but as you said this is not just a single error, but many errors throughout. I have not combed through and found them all so I as wondering if someone from Logos was on it.

So here we have the opposite: the AFAT correctly identifies these as jussive while the BHS does not mention this. Any idea why the BHS would not list them as jussive?
