When I search "{Speaker <Person Jesus>}" is there an additional string to add that will remove parallel passages from the results?
No
Were you hoping to exclude results from other Gospels for example?
Please provide a bit more detail as to what you are hoping to achieve.
I'm trying to find a way to look at every teaching of Jesus. Now, not everything Jesus said constitutes a teaching I suppose, but I don't know how to get around that. But I thought it might be possible to at least reduce the number of results if I could filter out all parallel passages. So if Jesus taught a passage in multiple Gospels, Logos would pick one and filter out the rest from the results.
Worst case I could just pick a book (ex., Luke) and go through that, as I won't get parallels.
Understood
Thinking through this and thinking about how this might work. If you are searching across all the Gospels, Logos would presumably find references in Matthew's Gospel first and so that would always appear as the "primary" source with results from other Gospels being dropped. And then Mark would come next and so on. Is that the behaviour you would want?
And then there would be the question of what is a parallel? When Jesus enters the temple after riding into Jerusalem he quotes Isaiah 56:7 - but it is recorded differently in Matthew and Mark
Would you want those to be counted as parallels or not?
I do see where this would be useful - I have often wanted to be able to say something like "Jesus is reported as having said xxx" around 30 times but it is difficult to do so when parallel reports appear in the different Gospels. But I think it would be very difficult to define how it would work.
I think that's the best option!
