RefTagger on iPad

Hi RefTagger folks,
First of all, thank you very much for the great work in creating RefTagger. It has been EXACTLY what the doctor ordered for Reggie Kelly's "Mystery of Israel" website. Reggie writes with tons of bible references so RefTagger is the perfect companion for his work. I discovered the code shortly before converting a simple HTML based site over to WordPress. The RefTagger WordPress Plug-in made that transition rather painless.
All has been fine and dandy until April 3rd, 2010: iPad Day. As you may know, the iPad has doesn't have a cursor that hovers. However, it is sooooo very close to working. The reference begins to pop up... but then it jumps to the separate Logos page as if the link in the pop-up had been clicked. Some web designers are saying that the - onmouseover - command works with iPad, but I believe that would be something implemented inside your end of the script.
Is there any hope of making RefTagger work with iPad (and for the 2 million plus users already out there)?
Thank you so much for reading this.
Blessings to you all in Him,
Tom Quinlan

Thanks for pointing this out. We'll look into improving support for mobile devices.

Awesome product, thanks for sharing! I too have an iPad and am interested making it work better on this device. I was thining, what if you made it an option (like those on the control pannel) so that the popup window is either called by an onmouseover or an onclick? Then when it is set to the onclick option, people could still click the "more" link to get to the full Bible. To make it even more powerful, you could use javascript to get the operating system (such as javascript: navigator.appName) and auto default the option to onclick for iphones/ipads and onmouseover for all others (then consider giving the option to toggle in the Control Panel). Thanks!

I'd love to use reftagger, but as mentioned here it doesn't display properly on my iPhone 3gs (same as the iPad I presume). In fact, even when it opens in a new window and displays the text -- the screen doesn't even scroll and I can't read the complete reference. So on the iPhone, it's really unusable at all.
Just thought I'd add my voice as one alse eagerly awaiting an update...
Thank-you.

I just noticed that the Logos iPad app does exactly what we're looking for RefTagger to do. Clicking footnotes and scripture links brings up the popup perfectly within the Logos app. Is there too much code involved there to build it into RefTagger too?

VerseClick (the KJV only tagger) has made a small stride in this area. The popup does not force a new browser window to open. Add an (x) to the window to whatever VC is doing and we're done.

I noticed something curious when experimenting ...
I have a very long scripture reference and get the same results....
But I noticed if I click on far right of link, the popup show as it should.
If I click near left of link, the popup shows AND the external page opens...
What I think is happening is that the touch time is causing first the popup to open under the touch point
and them the More.. link is activated..... Can the more link be away firm Lower left corner?
