Is there a way to do a proper citation in the web app?

For example, if I'm reading a commentary on the web app and I want to copy a quote to insert into another document, how do I get a citation? I have the option to copy the selected text but when I paste I only have the text I coped, I do not have any citation information as on the desktop app.

Correct. The Web App does not yet support citations. I imagine it will be quite some time before we see citations on the Web App, as they will likely roll out more pressing features first.

One thing, however, that they could have done that wouldn't require any fancy coding, would have been to give bibliographic information about the book in the "Resource Information" section found under the three dots at the top left hand side of each resource. From that, most of us would be able to construct a footnote for the information we copy and paste into another document. As it is, that button opens up a page that reads like a promo to get you to buy the book, which is an odd thing to do since--unless we stole the program from our brother-in-law-- most of us wouldn't be reading the book promo unless we had already purchased  the book.
