Since the install of 8.4, I now have some strange video anomalies at start up. Two big white blocks appear on a black background - every time... ideas? I have a NVIDIA 3D card. Is there a setting on it that might eliminate this
Does Logos load normally after that anomaly? Are your drivers up-to-date?
I have a Nvidia MX130 on my laptop, but Logos will use the the integrated Intel graphics unless I specify use of the MX130. I sometimes see a similar anomaly on loading, but it resolves itself.
On Windows, you can go to Control Panel > NVIDIA Control Panel > Program Settings to see if Logos uses the card.
Yes, I have it set to use the card nvidia GTX960M with latest GeForce drivers. And, yes, after about 30 seconds it resolves into a normal session of Logos 8. If I switch to the integrated card, the same two boxes appear and Logos starts up very quickly for the first time after changing to the integrated card. But, on subsequent times, it show the same two boxes and starts up slowly like the nvidia card. When I switch back to the nvidia card, for the first session, it loads quicky and the two boxes appear briefly. On subsequent starts, loads slowly with the two boxes staying for about 30 seconds.
I can't say which setting, but Vertical Sync seems a likely candidate. In NVIDIA Control Panel > Global Settings, is it set to "Use the 3D Application Setting"? Otherwise, click Restore. In Program Settings for Logos, is Vertical Sync set to "Use Global Settings"?
In the Control Panel > Intel Graphics Settings > 3D is everything set to Default? Otherwise, click Restore.
I see the same pattern on my screen when opening logos, but not nearly the time delays that you are seeing.
