Update Resources Option Removed...
Howdy from Texas!
With version 8.4, I notice that that the download resources function has changed. If you buy even a small package, the new resources stay in the cloud, unless you choose the option of downloading resources as soon as the program is opened.
It used to be that Logos would tell you how many megabytes of resources were waiting to be downloaded if you had Automatic Download set to "no." Then you could click, and they would download if you wished.
That option helped me a great deal because it told me how much time to allocate for the download and indexing, and I could then choose to use the program and install resources later.
Is there any way to include that option again in our Program Settings? To be more detailed, is there any way to have three options: 1) new resources go to the cloud, and show up in your library, but each one has to be downloaded individually (as the software does now); 2) resources are automatically downloaded (also available now); 3) we are notified of resources waiting to be downloaded and the megabyte size of the download file (as it used to be when "Automatic Download" was set to "no")?
Thanks a million!

There are two options controlling resource download.
In 8.4, these are:
- Automatically Download Updates: If set to YES, then updates for your application or already downloaded resources will automatically start downloading as soon as they are available. If set to NO, then updates for you application and already downloaded resources will not start automatically, and instead you will be shown a notification allowing you to start the download.
- Automatically Download New Resources: If set to YES, then new resources will automatically start downloading, regardless of your setting for Automatically Download Updates. If set to NO, then the resource will not be downloaded, but will still show up in your library. You can either right click on it or select it with the information pane open to manually download it.
In 8.5, these will be changed to:
- Automatically Start Download: If set to YES, then all available application and resource downloads will automatically start downloading as soon as they are available. If set to NO, then available application and resource downloads will not automatically start download, and instead you will be shown a notification allowing you to start the download.
- Download New Resources: If set to YES, then new resources will be marked for download. If Automatically Start Download is set to YES, then the download will immediately start. If Automatically Start Download is set to NO, then you will be shown a notification allowing you to start the download. If set to NO, then the new resource will not be downloaded, but will still show up in your library. You can either right click on it or select it with the information pane open to manually download it.
I hope this helps you understand both how the application currently behaves, and how it will change with the next update.

Thank you so much, Andrew. Sounds like y'all are way ahead of me! [:D]
Blessings as you continue to tweak this magnificent software.
I'm fairly certain that some people complained about always having that notice to download, even if only in a pending state. And then here I come with my own concerns, so you're getting it from both sides.
Thank you for your patience, and your willingness to satisfy all.
Paul
