    Okay, Jan, thanks.

    What I was fishing for was whether or not we have to delete everything by hand before installing Windows 10.  What I understand you to say is that there is an option to do that for you during the Install process, just be sure not to select it, if that's not what you want.

    I am hoping that if "leaving the programs in place" option causes problems, the Install program will allow me to "try again," and the second time go ahead and remove the old programs, *or* wipe the drive.

    With a paid Win 10 you will have those options.

    When I say "wiping Win 7" it will be the C: drive only. Always backup data on the C: drive before starting.
