Gk & Heb prepubs - will they work for mac eventually?

Hi again, i'm looking at he gk & heb videos currently on prepub

by trying to follow along with the sample video, it doesn't seem like all the features are implemented yet (I have Scholars). can i assume that with time i could use these videos fully with my mac version? i think the answer is "yes," but just want to make sure.

Hi Andrew,

That would be a yes, and in the mean time I have no doubt that there will be lots of info in the videos that will be of benefit. Not to mention that you will be more equipped to use the tools when the features come along.

The product does not work through Logos4 at all. It is independent. The UI actually works through your web browser. So when you launch the little Safari icon that you will see when you put the disc in, it will open a new Safari page and you will see all the info/buttons you need. When you click on a play button it will open the file in Quicktime.

For better performance, since some of the files are pretty big, I would advise copying the files to the HDD so that it does not have to play from the disc. Just dragging the movie files from the disc to the computer should do, however I do not know if the launcher file will run from the HDD that sits next to the folder containing the movie files, I did not try to move that file to the HDD and launch it, I only launched it from the disc.

thanks Tommy, i understand the lessons are separate from L4, and assume everything L4mac will eventually be operational for all the features referred to in the training. is this a safe assumption?

Am I going to need BDAG to get the most from this course? I have the
original languages version of logos 4 but BDAG is not included in it.
Will I have other resources that can take it's place while going through
the training videos?

The blurb says "Scholar’s Library is
recommended. Also recommended, but not required: BDAG and A Concise Hebrew
and Aramaic Lexicon of the Old Testament (Holladay)." The lexicons with Original Languages are pretty good, and I would have thought would be more than adequate.

does anyone know why they recommend the concise heb lexicon, and not HALOT, which comes bundled with BDAG? all these acronyms are making me crazy...

Sorry, the way your message read I felt compelled to confirm that the lessons were stand-alone, and not integrated in the software. As for your assumption, it is true that everything you see working in Logos 4 for Windows should work for Logos 4 Mac.
