7 to 8 Issue

Support is ending for my 7 and an email from Logos suggested I install 8 Basic. Will I lose any of my 7 Gold resources? Does this just update the engine and keep what I have purchased? I’ve been on a bed for a year and a half from a botched up surgery and am just now able to start using my 7 Gold purchase. Makes me cry that I spent so much monthly and finally paid it off, just to have support pulled.

I pray your health be restored. You won't lose any of your resources as you have noted the engine will be updated to the latest iteration of the software.

The software is always free. You pay for resources (i.e. books) and some features (especially ones which need datasets to function). When a major new release comes out (i.e. L7 to L8), the software is made available immediately to Faithlife Connect subscribers and those who purchase new base packages. After a few months, it is available to everyone, free of cost. You never lose resources you purchased, and you receive a discount (dynamic pricing) for new packages you might purchased based upon resources you already own. FL's commitment is that you should never have to pay for a resource twice (from them).

While you were badly suffering, Logos was busy improving Logos for you ... free. It's one of the nice aspects of Logos ... even now, they're quietly improving it, and more free too.

BTW, I own L8, but still use L7. Works fine ... maybe when it hiccups, I'll update. No rush.

Thank you for all the helpful replies. I installed version 8 and it does things noticeably faster. I’m glad I upgraded. Thank you for setting me straight on how Logos does things too.
