intersect searches

In the latest Bible Study magazine, there was an article on how to do a search for the word Rock but only when it applies to God.  I am unable to duplicate this.  The article sounds like all I would need to gather the information is to use the help manual that opens up with each search.  Well, it makes no mention of such a search.  I called customer service, and the person had no clue.

Can somebody help me here?

Thank you

Try <Person God> INTERSECTS rock, because the word rock would have to be a referent for God.

    Hi Dave

That worked, but I should learn the rules somehow.  I found out now I had to capitalize INTERSECTS.  I'm guessing I would have use 'place' or 'thing' in another context.  The article said the help manual in the search window is so helpful.  It made no mention of this kind of search.

    Thank you, Dave

    I appreciate it.

I did not read the article you are referring to, but it sounds like it may have been referring to the search templates in the Search tool.

If you do not see that option in the search pane, then click the menu the red arrow in my screen shot is pointing to. These templates will allow you to enter the criteria for your search, and then build the syntax for you. I would play with the different searches, paying attention to the syntax each search builds. You will learn over time how to expand and combine search syntax for more complex searches.

Many users hope the search templates are a stop gap measure until FL develops a more robust, user friendly search tool.

Thanks, Fred.  I saw that but I didn't see the kind of search the article refers to in there.

The article made it sound like it was all so easy.  Like the template was right there, and just type a couple of words and it's done.

    Thanks again
