Hi there.

Logos 8 with most recent updates.

I want to do the following search:

Find all places in New Testament where "Holy Spirit" is together with a verb. The result must then be something like: "... and the Holy Spirit (or Spirit or Holy Spirit is referred to) healed the people".

I hope that I expressed it correctly.

Thank you so long.

    Hi Deon

Try a clause search - something like “subject:Holy Spirit verb:ANY”

I’m not at my computer at the moment so can’t check exactly what it should look like but hopefully that gives you some pointers

And here's a screenshot showing the results - I've added in an English translation as well

If any of this doesn't make sense please advise.

I'd be inclined to use agent:Holy Spirit verb:any rather than subject:Holy Spirit verb:any, although using both would give you the fullest picture. The former should give you the semantic agent (the person who does whatever it is), while the second will give you the grammatical subject of the verb. Usually they are the same, but it's possible to express action without using a grammatical subject, and you may want to include those occasions.
