L8 quickstart guides stuck in preview view

Probably user error but...
most of my quickstart layouts go to the start page then stay reduced. A couple devotional will load and expand full page, but my quickstart bibles, bible study, reading plan,all don't expand to full page, I have to select them in multiple page view before they will expand to full page.
Is there a setting I am not seeing?
