Do you know where I can download the latest Logos Beta.
The latest was advertised at https://community.logos.com/forums/t/182533.aspx
However this is now the stable release so installing this may not necessarily help depending on what version you have installed.

Yes, I am also aware of what being a "BETA" tester is about, and I've been through similar issues with programs over the years... but the OTHER programs that have high price points and have high usage, would PROBABLY have a patch by now. - THIS I am speaking from experience on my end.
Faithlife are committed to providing support for New OS (for current/supported versions of Logos); which means they will provide an update/patch when that new OS ceases to be a Beta. FL may provide fixes prior to then, as happened with the current v8.6 when it was in Beta. A final update could happen via a Service Release* of v8.6, after the new OS is released. However, it's not unknown for a release version of Mac to contain a change that affects Logos, so another Service Release would be needed!
* a Service Release is an update to the current version, and it can occur when/as needed; unlike a Beta version which runs on a fixed cycle (usually 6 weeks) before it is released.

Based on you guys saying it was working for a few of you I made the mistake of updating to Catalina and it WILL NOT START.
Yes I know. Not supported. Just warning for other people who might consider jumping on the beta bandwagon for macOS. DO NOT DO IT IF YOU WANT LOGOS TO WORK. It might, but might now. In my case does not.

I have tried to beat the drum. [:)]
As a reminder: Just because it works now doesn’t mean that it will work in the future. Part of the beta testing process is to add features. When Apple doe this, it may break Logos. Beta 2 may be compatible but Beta 3 not.

Thanks for your assistance!

Kevin, I don't work for FL. But I had the same "hanging" on start issue when I first upgraded to Catalina. I deleted all my Logos caches in the OS library, ran cron scripts... and it started working for me. I am not saying this will fix yours. I am just sharing my experience. I am running macOS 10.15 Beta (19A501i) and Logos Bible Software 8.6 (8.6.0.0052). Hope it gets working for you.

Great! [:)]
Remember, however, that future beta updates to macOS may break Logos again. I have had this happen in previous beta testing.

When I attempt to open 8.6.0.52 I get this error message: "Logos" can't be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software.

In the current and recent previous versions of macOS, there is a security feature in System Preference which allows users to install only software downloaded from the App Store. Did you check to make sure that was disabled?

No I did not. I found out that had to right click on logos and then click open. I'm in now. Thank you.

Disregarding Catalina, how stable are the Logos betas? Have you ever had any major issues?
Logos betas are way more stable than OS betas. If you're willing to use an OS beta, you should be willing to use a Logos beta.
(My personal experience is that I've been using Logos betas exclusively since Logos 4 launched. In all that time I've only had one show-stopping bug that I couldn't work around - that was a crash on start up that took about five days to fix, but which left me without Logos for my Sunday prep.)
This is my personal Faithlife account. On 1 March 2022, I started working for Faithlife, and have a new 'official' user account. Posts on this account shouldn't be taken as official Faithlife views!

At this point, what can it hurt? Right? [:)]

Forgive my ignorance, (maybe proof I shouldn't be running betas of macOS) but what? Not sure what you mean here or how to do this.

Just understand that Mac beta operating systems can wreck anything, and stay clear of them!

Catalina is still not officially released and won't be until sometime in October. It's still Beta software. I've see on the forums some people have had success with running Logos on it, while others have had issues. If you have issues, there is no official support because FL does not support Logos running on Beta software. I'm waiting until Catalina is official.

The most likely reason is that you had an old version and not the newest release. Manually download the new engine and install. If that doesn't work, please create a new thread and post logs (see my signature line).
