Reinstall Logos

I have been away from my stateside desktop for a couple of years and when I tried to open my Logos app it would not load. I think that because it has not been updated and since 11/2018 it will not run.

So, I did an uninstall on Windows 10 and deleted the Logos folder on the dedicated drive. Now I am trying to do an install from the Quick Installation onto multiple computers page using Method 2. I have the folders "Data, Documents, User" backed up on an external drive ready to replace the new folders that Logos will install. I am doing a "Custom" install and unchecked the "Automatically Downloaded Updates."

The problem is I have tried multiple times to do this install and every time I get the message that another installation is in progress and I must wait for it to finish. There is no other installation in progress, but I can't get past that dialog. Can someone please help me figure out what is causing the problem so I can reload Logos 8?

Hindsight 20/20: installing newer Logos 8 should have worked to upgrade older installation => https://www.logos.com/install  (installing Logos 7.19 also should have worked with caveat that Logos 7 became unsupported on 28 May 2019)

Before installing Logos 8, recommend purchase of free Logos 8 Basic and/or Verbum 8 Basic Academic also has a Basic => https://www.logos.com/academic-basic

One idea is restart Windows to see if that clears installation in progress.

Yes, an in-place upgrade of your original Logos version would have been simpler.

Logos 8.4 and later allows one to install a smaller Library if disk space is an issue, so there have been changes to the installer and the software that have affected the Quick Methods. Method 2 is untried with files from versions older than Logos 8.4, so I would recommend Method 3 as you still have your Resource folder. Be sure to choose the smallest Library option after you sign-in.

    Hi KS4J,

I tried the option that you suggested and downloaded setup for the Logos academics basic. However, I got the same message that another installation is in progress and that I must wait until it finishes. I have rebooted my computer several times to clear any possible installations in progress, but rebooting does not change anything. I still get that message. Do you have any idea how I can get around that?

Also, I opened my logos folder (recovered from the recycle bin) and clicked on the Application icon. When the dialog box came up to enter my information for my Logos Account, I got the message that Logos could not connect. I have the correct information for my logos account and I am connected to the Internet. I'm beginning to think that a demon does not want me to have Logos on my desktop here in PA! [6]

Start over again i.e uninstall Logos, delete the Logos folder, and use Method 3.

Since you are trying to install the current supported stable version, recommend remote assistance with Faithlife => https://support.logos.com/hc/en-us/articles/360008543031-Logos-Support-Remote-Assistance

My apologies: been several years since personally encountered/cleared installation in progress on Windows.
