Giving receipts -- annual or quarterly?

How often does your church send a statement/receipt for giving? I know many churches do it annually, but I recently talked with a pastor doing it quarterly.

What do you do?

Is it all 'data' or do you include a letter or a message? Do you tell people what their giving supported? Do you thank them? Do you include a copy of the budget or any information on the church's financial status?

We send giving statements annually. We recently changed from simply providing a total dollar amount, to providing a totals by month, with a grand total at the bottom.

Our letters are fairly standard and simply thank people for support our church and ministries. The giving statements do not include church budget data or financial statements. Those are provided at monthly business meetings.

Hello Bob, we send them annually, along with and an inspirational message including "thank you."  We do not include a copy of the budget or financial report. We publish a financial report separately.

The former church I attended sent yearly statements alone at the end of January.

The church I now attend doesn’t send an annual statement; I had to “pull” the statement from the online service that manages giving.

    Annually, at year end.

It's just a form, hand-filled-in with the person's name and address and total amount they gave that year, signed by our treasurer. Nothing else included in the envelope. However, copies of our church financial report and budget are handed out and discussed at the AGM (annual general meeting) that the entire congregation may attend, and usually about half do. Anyone who misses it can see a copy of the AGM booklet with the budget and other reports in the members-only section of our website. The budget for the up-coming year is voted on at another congregational meeting. So everyone has the chance to see what their giving supported.
