When searching, in the 'library results', can we have a feature that expands/collapses all reports when listed by book? This would minimize unnecessary scrolling.

My experience has been that everything always starts closed, which would be my preferences. I think I've seen some people advocate for it being resource specific, but I could be wrong there. As long as there is an expand all/collapse all option somewhere I'm happy.

Yes. There are only some resources that I focus on. I probably could make a collection to search in and not have to worry about the others but once in a while I look in the others.
I agree. I would hate to have to expand or collapse all individually especially if they all start out collapsed by defaullt. An expand/collapse All button is a necessity.

There is an Expand/Collapse All menu command if you right-click on anything in the list:
