The Logos Bible Software desktop application version 8.6 is now available to all users.

To immediately update to the current stable version, enter the Update Now command. Otherwise, the app will automatically update the next time it's scheduled to check for updates.

Notable New Features

Bookstore Search

A new section in Basic search, Bookstore searches the contents of all resources which are not licensed to the user. Bookstore search can be accessed in Everything search, as well as in All Resources and as a standalone search collection.

Double-click, Triple-click, and Prefer Lemma Settings

A hallmark feature of Logos has always been to quickly get the definition of a word by double-clicking to execute Look up. Now, the Prefer Lemmas setting allows you to look up not simply the surface text, but the underlying Greek or Hebrew lemma (in Bibles with reverse interlinears). Additionally, double-click and triple-click can now be configured to Look up, Search/Search Inline, or Select Text, so you can customize these quick actions to fit your workflow.

The double and triple clicks search are great! Thank you![8-|]

Is there a way to get my double or triple click to go to a certain book? For example, I have always had Logos go to That's Easy for You to Say with a double click. Then I could scroll through my prioritized dictionaries that followed. Now, I cannot find a way to do this. It would be nice if the triple click allowed you to select a certain book.

Look up still respects your prioritized resources. I expect what you are seeing is that you are getting a Greek or Hebrew lexicon instead of That's Easy for You to Say, which is an English dictionary. Turning off the Prefer Lemmas setting will set it back to what you are used to.

Adam, a double thanks: 1) for the double and triple click feature; 2) for your answer to Dan (and my) question.

Thank you for the tip to turn off the "prefer lemmas" setting.

The icon that docks the library to its own tab no longer works with this update. I click on it and nothing happens.

It says (Windows) it opens a floating window. I also find it doesn't work, unless it is already open in a tab!

Same behavior here.  It doesn't do anything unless there is already a library tab open, and even then the icon doesn't open the library in a floating window, it opens it in another/duplicate tab.

The automatic update caused my Logos to crash and become unusable. I am now having to download the whole package again on my very slow Internet connection.  This is not fun.  It was so bad that the icon for the program was removed and replaced by a generic.

In the past, it was possible to assign "Power Lookup" to a double-click, etc -- it seems this is no longer an option; is that correct?

That feature is not yet available in this version of the software. It's still in beta testing.
