Wide Screen Panel Question

I want to make a tab fill the whole of my screen but when I drag the tab around the empty window I do not get that option.

There is always a narrow panel 'slot' available on the right hand side. My tab can use it, or use half of the remaining screen, or all of the remaining screen, but not all of the whole screen.

My screen is 1900x1200.

I hope the video explains this better .. it is my first go with Jing.

Is this the expected behaviour?

    Hi Martin

    Think out of the box.

    Float the panel?

Looks like a Mac bug to me. I have a 1920 screen on the PC which doesn't suffer from this problem. Has the layout menu been implement yet on the Mac? It might help while you wait for a fix.

Good idea. Yes. It is with the menus at the top rather than a button on the bar ... personally I like it better up there.

Closing all my open resources (using the X buttons) does not cure the problem. In fact my video starts with all of the resources closed.

I have got a 'blank' layout synced from my PC. Choosing this layout resets the underlying panels to allow for a resource tab to fill the whole window. So has cured the problem in this instance.

I have returned to yesterday's layout using the layout menu and the problem returns, so it is something that was saved as part of the layout and can be cured by choosing another layout.

I have gone through my layout history and in one snapshot there is no problem, and in the next there is a problem just 3 minutes later, but I cannot discern what I did in the missing 3 minutes!

    Hi  again Martin,

Just a long shot - but I wonder if these layouts have had, in the past, the information panel, or other non-adjustable panel, in the position shown. If so the area reserved for them my not be being released when the panel is being closed.

If so this is probably a bug?

In the meantime are there problems with floating the panel to full screen or using reading view?

It's a known issue in Alpha 21 that sometimes occurs after you've had a panel open in the "sidebar" (should be fixed in Alpha 22). As a workaround, you can

    • Go to your homepage, check the "show homepage at startup" option.
    • Quit Logos 4 (as in Command-Q, not just closing the window).
    • Reopen Logos 4.
    • Uncheck the "show homepage at startup" option.
    • Leave the homepage by a means other than the "enter passage, click go" mechanism on the homepage (as this will put panels in the sidebar, undoing the previous effort).
