Question on Grammatical Relationships

I do not see the Grammatical Relationships section when I do "Bible Word Study"? I just bought the Learn to Use Biblicel Greek and Hebrew product and now I see in help that this section only appears depending on what resources you own.
Can anyone tell me what else I now have to buy to get this section to show up?
Thanks

I don't have Learn to Use Biblical Greek and Hebrew so I may not be able to help you, but perhaps you could give a sample of what you're trying to do so that we're not simply shooting in the dark.

Scholar's

I open the ESV, right click on the greek word at the bottom and choose Bible Study - in the sample videos for the product I mentioned they have a section that appears in the window called "Grammatical Relationships". It is missing from my screen. I see that they mention they recommend Scholar's level but not required. I have Scholar's but now I am getting afraid that I will have to spend more money to get more products to use this feature that I see in the videos. If that is the case I won't be able to use the product I just ordered, not at least till next year when I have another couple hundred dollars or whatever it will take to get what else I need.
If all of the above is true - and I need more resources - well, live and learn - I got the email advertising what a great product this was, thought it looked good and I bit the hook.

This comparison chart shows that you should have the feature. Have you perhaps created a custom BWS guide?

In the Bible Word Study i have found that you need to enter the original language word for the Grammatical Relationships to show. (i to have Scholar's edition)
Since i am not a scholar, i use Logos4's method in the reference box.
- Type: g:zo (the g: tells Logos to look for Greek transliteration; phonetic spelling)
- In the drop down list i see
appear and click on it.
- Then i see all these below appear
And this too....
Hope i understood your question and this helps.

Steve,
That is what I am doing - no Grammatical Relationships show - all I see is lemma and translation.

Did you try it with John 1:1 and click on life? Perhaps the word you clicked on was added (probably not since you clicked on the lemma). But if it shows for other words (as mentioned above) then you at least know that its working in your Scholar's library.
Edit: if this isn't working, perhaps this is a good time to call tech support (as they are there until 5pm PST).

What is a custom BWS guide?
0 -
A custom BSW guide allows you to pick which categories that you want visible and which order that they are placed.
Edit: in the last post with a picture, if you look on the left in the drop down menu you will see Copy of Bible Word Study, this was an edited custom guide (i didn't rename it as i should have). But custom guide will show up in the drop down menu as well. Although you can create a custom guide, it still will not force the category of Grammatical Relationships to appear if the word is not found (like i mentioned earlier this shows up only for original language LEMMA words).

Thanks all. I called support - they verified that I have Scholar's but told me I have to purchase an addtional $330.00 of books to see this feature. So I am going to cancel my order I made this morning.
Shame on me for clicking on the email for this product and being fooled in to buying it. I don't have another $330 in addition to the $159 the product I was duped into buying.
Thanks again everyone.

Do you have the Logos 4 Scholar's Library or the Logos 3 Scholar's
library? Did they say which resources are required to make grammatical
relationships work?MacBook Pro (2019), ThinkPad E540

Walter,
I am not using the exact same package as you, I am using the scholars library, but if you follow the examples given but Steve Clark, especially the second one it should work, at least it does on my system. What may not be clear is what happens when you do step 3 in Steve's second example. When you click on Bible Word Study, it opens a new tab in the window that contains the Passage & Exegetical Guides. The new tab is called Bible Word Study. That tab contains a number of sections, including Gramatical Relationships. You may have to scroll down to see it if the sections above it are expanded. Hope this helps. Michael

Logos 4 Scholar's - they said I needed BDAG - it's $150 in addition to the $160 for the pre-pub Learn to Use Greek and Hebrew - that would be $310 total ... the worst of it is that when the product goes off pre-pub on 6/14 it will be $500 - so if I wait till I can afford BDAG I will have to spend $650 total.
I was able to cancel the order for the Learn to Use Greek and Hebrew and I have deleted the email from the "Senior VP of Logos" stating how wonderful the product is with the click to order button. It does look like a great product - but I feel like I was really misled. Just glad I could cancel.
Shame on me for clicking thru without researching the product further.

I am using the Scholars Library Michael and exactly what you state happens but it stops with Translation - no Septuagint, no Example uses, no Grammatical Relationships. They told me to get those I have to buy BDAG - I told her it was working for you guys but she said even though I had Logos 4 Scholars I'd still have to buy it.
I really don't know who to believe - I think I will go back to eSword.

BDAG is probably necessary for the Learning Biblical Greek, so that may be what the tech was trying to say. But as for your problem with BWS, i don't understand why Grammatical Relationships was not showing up. Guess it's a don't care at this point (since you canceled). Sorry to hear that you had this problem.

BDAG is only part of the Scholar's Platinum and the Portfolio libraries.
But it sounds like you don't have proper Scholar's library license if your BWS doesn't have all the sections:
Note that every Scholar's library--plain (purple dot), silver, gold, and platinum--has access to all the BWS sections according to the chart. The Bible Study Library (green) and the Leader's Library (blue) only have Lemmas and Translation sections (which is what yours seems to be doing).

Walter..
Something is DEFINITELY WRONG HERE....
you DON'T NEED BDAG to get this section of the BWS to show...that's just plain false!
You didn't get "taken"....ok?
Let's start over....we can solve this....
Take a screen shot of your bible word study by right clicking on the word "beginning" in John 1....
Right click and choose "lemma" and then find "bible word study"
And take a screen shot of the result...ok?

I don't know where you got the idea that BDAG comes in Scholars. It isn't included in any collection below the Platinum edition. You do get Louw-Nida which isn't as good as BDAG, but is helpful. Personally, I don't care for any program that claims to provide you the results of knowing Greek and/or Hebrew without having taken the time and made the effort to learn the languages. The most you can expect to get is SOMEONE ELSE'S PREDIGESTED VIEWS on the subject. You might as well use a commentary.

Thanks for your help - yes it has the "+".
I called them back and asked to speak to a supervisor who also told me I'd need BDAG.
I have decided I don't want to pursue the matter any more. You guys say I don't need it, their charts say I don't, but they say I do. Maybe they need the $150. But I'm not going to give it to them.
Thanks again for all your help.

Well, there is SOME kind of mis-communication going on here.
You definitely DON'T need BDAG to have that section of the bible word study...
OR
There is some piece of this puzzle that's not being communicated correctly.
Bob P, can you help???

After the initial advertising hyperbole, I believe one of the creators finally admitted that this DVD set will only teach you to use the language tools available in L4.

I think you are correct Robert.
I also have the Scholars and I can get it to work. At first I had a problem because I was not doing it correctly. I assume that it ONLY works when you select the LEMMA, because if I do not select the LEMMA, the Grammatical Relationships does not appear.
-I selected the word in the Bible.
-Right-clicked on the word.
-Left-clicked on Lemma.
-Left-clicked on Bible Word Study.
And it does give me the "Grammatical Relationships."
I tried a couple of Bibles and it DID WORK.
I do not have BDAG in my Scholars.
