I know this hasn't changed but it's annoyed me for years so I'll mention it since you're working in the area. From the context menu:
The sequence is from (a) lowest level of detail to (b) highest group level (c) next level division etc. i.e. L5, L1, L2, L3, L4. This can get more confusing when multiple lowest level items are covered by the selection. I would prefer a single sequence either L1, L2, L3, L4, L5 OR L5, L4, L3, L2, L1.
