Can I operate 2 Logos accounts using the same computer?

I operate Logos 8 using my main Logos account.

Can I log out of my main account, and then log in using another Logos account e.g. a free account?

The reason is that, in my main account, the ESV Bible is full of my markings and annotations.

But for teaching purposes, I want to display the ESV with different, and simpler range of annotations to show people I am teaching.

By the way, as a suggestion to Logos, this could be solved if we could create different sets of markings/annotations per Bible version. Right now, I am aware that we can only create one set of markings per Bible version. Is that correct?

Yes - we can have multiple Logos accounts set up on the same computer - see https://community.logos.com/forums/t/180195.aspx for a recent discussion.

But we can also create different sets of markings for a Bible version by using different notebooks.

If you ensure that all annotations for one set are in one Notebook and all annotation for the other set are in another notebook then you can enable whichever notebook you want from within the resource Visual Filter menu.

I’m not at my computer at the moment so can’t illustrate with screenshots but hopefully this will point you in the right direction.

All these decades since I've used Logos, and upgraded through each iteration, I've just created mark-ups and not been aware of what Notebook these were placed in. I just went with the default. Hence, I'm unaware of how to create separate Notebooks, and how to intentionally place mark-ups in a desired Notebook.

In Logos 8, I checked, and it appears that the software has been placing different types of mark-ups in separate Notebooks, rather than into one Notebook. Is that correct? (See attached image)

I see that by clicking the circle+ icon, I can create a new Notebook, but it is not evident to me how to use that new Notebook to collect annotations that will be separated from the other collections.

For clarification: this is a new feature with L8. If you really have used Logos for decades, then you have experienced a number of migrations unawares. The notebooks you see were automatically created from the “note documents” you had in L7 and prior. I am not near my computer to double check, but the old default (L7 & prior) was for highlight notes to go into a “note document” named for the highlighter pallet (I.e. (Solid Colors), which is what you see. I’m not sure about the duplication.

Note management is important and it would be beneficial for you to learn more about it.

The place to start is in the highlighting tool - and create a different highlighting palette for the two different usages you are working on.

Then for both highlighting palettes:

Then, when applying the highlights from the different palettes, they will go into different notebooks which you can then select / deselect in the visual filter menu.
