I double click on logos 8 desktop icon and a blue logos sceen pops up for about 2 seconds and then vanishes. The logos software fails to start.
Can anyone offer some suggestions to resolve this problem?
thank you

Greetings Philip
In order for us to help you will need to let us know which Operating System you are using.
It might well save time in getting a solution if you use the link in my signature to provide some logs from your computer which you can attach to a post using the paperclip icon in the Description Header here.
I am sure we will get you up and running in short order.
Hi Mike
I'm using windows 10.

I have generate a log zip file, but I'm not sure about the paper clip part of your instruction. Can I send you an email with the zip file?

When you reply to a post, it is an icon on the row above the text box; to the left of the Smiley face!
I tried pressing the control key and double clicking the logos desktop icon. I'm not sure if I have been able to produce the correct log files. Anyway, the files are attached below.
0363.ResourceAuditLog.ltonlmos.0pg.txt6646.LogosError-2.log4263.LogosError.log8306.LogosCrash.txt8015.cef.log
Nearly there. We need you to compress the log folder as per the instructions at Step 2, and upload the resulting zip file. Do this ASAP after the problem occurs.
But try this first:
I followed your instructions and the logos software now loads quite well. Thanks for the tip.
I then entered the topic guide to search for the "holy spirit" in my church fathers collection. How do I narrow the topic search to say the Cappadocian fathers, or say St Augustine?
Also can the output view in the topic guide be set up to show all of the output hits rather than having to hit "more" several times to get all of the hits?
thanks

It would have been best to created a new thread since this is a different issue than the one you expressed in the original post (OP).
However, you need to create a collection of those resources and then search the collection. See https://wiki.logos.com/Collections
If you still have questions, created a new thread.
Greetings again Philip
I am glad that you are making progress with the software and that your initial problem has been sorted out.
Unfortunately, being a Mac user I would not have been able to help.
There are though, as you have found out, some both knowledgeable and helpful folk on these forums who often 'ride to the rescue'.
Best of luck with your other enquiry I will watch out for the new thread.
I tried following the advice you gave to Phillip Wood but my LOGOS 8 still will not start. I had trouble with it yesterday and finally got it started, not sure what I did to accomplish that. The second set of three are from an issue I had a few days ago
7635.cef.log
8475.LogosError.log
5460.LogosError-2.log

The logs are old and not the ones we need.
If you still have a problem, start a new thread and provide a zipped file of all your logs just after the problem occurs (or just after you reproduce it).
