The ever-increasing authors list
Every time the author name is fixed in the resource meta data, or a temporary resource gets added and removed again, the authors list in the app increases, and "empty" author records are created.
It would be great to refresh and clear the authors list occasionally, so that it doesn't clutter so much.

Have you tried to rebuild the index?

I don't think that option is available on Android. If I enter the command, it opens a search box that searches for the words "rebuild index".

Jan,
Please do the following:
1. Go to the Home Page of the App (icon that looks like a house).
2. Locate the “Enter passage or search” field at the top, and enter in “rebuild index”
3. All your titles should list once indexing has completed. Please let us know if you need further help.
Sorry Jan, rebuild index is currently only available on iOS, not on Android.
I suggest re-installing this app.

For clarification: I think the OP is dealing with a corrupted list of authors in his index, rather than not being able to see all of his titles. Will our suggestion fix that issue?

Sorry JT, I have corrected my reply. I now recommend re-installing the App.

Since the data folder with the downloaded resources is more than 100 Gb in size, this suggestion is not funny...
Are there any plans to add the rebuild index function for the Android app?
If not, I might go with the cluttered author list for a few more months, until it reaches a level of clutterness that's more painful than the prospect of re-downloading 100 Gb...

Sorry but are you saying you have over 100GB downloaded to your Android device?

Yes. Three quarters of that are course videos though.

My guess - but Faithlife would need to comment further - is that this might be getting into somewhat uncharted territory with the app!

The mobile app simply isn't designed for this! The "best" fix is often a reinstall. [:s]

Hi JT,
I often see comments about people who have lots of resources downloaded to their phones and tablets, usually along the lines of your comment that the mobile app is not designed for that.
FL are continually adding features to the apps to enable you to use them for studying when you are “on the road”. This seems to be counter productive if we are only to have a small subset of our resources on our devices.
I have a smallish library (about 1,800 resources) which is installed on both my Android phone and iPad. I have only had one instance where I have had to uninstall!
Perhaps somebody from Logos could jump in here and officially recommend how many resources should be installed!
Tony.

I doubt you will get a specific answer, but FL employees have said the same thing I have over the years.

Hi Anthony,
Different users are in different situations. There is no specific cutoff for the number of downloaded resources. It is up to the user to choose.
Having said that, we do not recommend downloading hundreds or thousands of resources. It does introduce an extra layer of complexity, even though there are many, like yourself, who experience no problems in this scenario.
Our app handles downloaded resources better than it did a year ago. Some of these improvements have been added quite recently. We are aware that many depend on downloaded resources, and we are also working on improving offline functionality.
But I always recommend downloading your favorite books and/or the books you are currently working on. In other words, the fewer the better. I think that makes life simpler, but users are free to choose otherwise.
