Search notes issue

I am trying to switch from notebooks to tags. I want to edit every note and retag it, but it looks like the search box does not work for tags. I know I can use filter, but the problem is that I am planning to add hundreds of tags. Am I missing something?

I'm not sure I understand how a search returning a list of notes based on a tag search is any different than a list of notes filtered by the same tag you search for. Can you clarify what you are trying to do.
If your desire is to select every note in a given a notebook and assign a tag to those notes, then simply select all of the notes in that notebook enter the tag and select apply changes. All of the the selected notes will be tagged at the same time.

Correct. It works for notes ("Take a note...") you have made.
Try a Basic Search of Your Documents. If you type e.g. mytag:Tag01 (no spaces), it should find a tag named "Tag01".

Ok, here is what I am trying to do. I created a new note, and added Tag1:
Now. I am trying to look up my note using my tag name: Tag1 and I get no results
If I am trying to search from Docs, still no results:
Why does the search do not pick my tags? I am planning to add hundreds of tags, using all the themes, subjects, and etc., but if search doesn't pick up, whats the use of it?

Well, the Search does pick it up: see Dave's post above. Using search Everything or search Your_Documents and the mytag: prefix it will work precise and fast. What you are talking about is the search within the Notes tool. If I'm not mistaken, this is a known (and weird) limitation of the Notes tool which has been discussed elsewhere. I hope they fix this soon.

If you want to see notes you have tagged as "Tag1" or any other tag you use, use the search box in the side bar.
You can also filter by the tag name if you prefer to do that

Thank you all for your help! Hopefully Faithlife will fix this issue anytime soon. Fred, search box in the side bar is very helpful
