Books or Journals on "Burn Out"
I'm doing a Small Group on the topic of "Burn Out". Does anybody know some good books or journals that I can use on this topic?
Thanks,
Susan Murphy

I enjoyed reading Crazy Busy. The author doesn't discuss burnout per se but provides practical tips on how to address some of its potential causes. Short, non-technical book. https://ebooks.faithlife.com/product/35761/crazy-busy-a-mercifully-short-book-about-a-really-big-problem

Hi Susan,
Here are some good resources to consider. "Reset" is good book, and is available in Faithlife EBooks https://ebooks.faithlife.com/product/137728). "Burned Out?" is a booklet put out by CCEF (who publishes the Journal of Biblical Counseling). I have found the Journal of Biblical Counseling to be extremely helpful in so many ways. I do not have this resource yet in Logos, and I have not read every volume. I used to get the print edition. I am sure that there is a single volume that deals with the issue, and it would be worth getting (only $2.99). However, I am not sure which volume it would be. Here is the link to the full journal resource: https://www.logos.com/product/150540/journal-of-biblical-counseling
Blessings,
Kevin

Hi Susan,
There is an interesting article in Evangelical Missions Quarterly, July 1986 on the topic of 'brownout', which describes an often longer-term near-burnout state which where someone is still functional to some degree, while neither completely burnt out nor coping well with their situation. The online journal can be seen here: https://emqonline.com/node/1602 However, I've not been able to access it there any longer. A copy of that article can be seen here: https://missionexus.org/burnout-or-brownout/
