Thoughts on Walton’s OT Survey

How’s Walton‘s OT Survey. Will it add anything to Tremper Longman III’s introduction to the OT

I know Denver seminary recommends it! "800 pages of a book-by-book Evangelical summary of the Old Testament with plenty of colorful photos and illustrations."

I haven't used Longman's Intro so I cannot compare but I will say that I really like Walton's survey. Like mentioned above it has a lot of illustrations and charts. I would say that he is also very even handed in how he treats the issues. When I read through Exodus a while back, he explained both the early and late views and then said which one he preferred. I haven't read through the whole thing but up to Deuteronomy I really enjoyed it.
If you decide you like it, these books are similar in style and good as well
