I'm facing the same problem.  I'm really looking forward to using this feature but it just isn't working.

I wonder if you own it.

If it appears faded in the Docs > New menu, and/or you get a message "...currently unavailable" when you hover over it, you don't own it.

You need the Bronze or Full Feature Set.

    Charlie,

You do not yet own the Canvas Tool.  You can add this feature to your library by ordering an upgrade that includes it, as Dave has suggested.

However, trying to open this should not crash Logos. Please open Logos and click on the Help menu (three vertical dots in the upper left).  Choose “About Logos Bible Software”.  Do you see an option for “Update now”?  If you do, please click on it so that Logos can update.

If you need further help with this, please contact Customer Support at 1-800-875-6467 or customerservice@faithlife.com

Thanks Joe.  I figured that that was the case.  I was just hoping that when I upgrade to a new edition that my original investment in the program woud include changes in the features of the program for free.  I undertand why Logos would charge for any additional resources that are provided in the new edition but was surprised to see that program upgrades aren't included in the original price.  My bad.  Thanks.
