Sermon Editor

I am running the public beta of Mac OS (Catalina) along with latest beta of L8. I am unable to start a NEW sermon using the sermon editor. I can open an existing one but cannot start a new one! This has persisted for some time and I hesitated reporting it figuring it would resolve itself. Sadly, this seriously impacts my ability to effectively use L8. Everything works normally on Windows 10.

as you may have picked up on other threads, the beta of Catalina isnt supported by Logos.

It may get addressed before the official release but no guarantees

Although I understand that the new Mac OS is not supported at this time, this problem begain with Mac OS Mojave! It will not load a NEW sermon editor on my MacBook Air. It will however load it once it has been published to proclaim using my Windows 10 laptop.

Do you think that publishing to Proclaim (I assume you mean Export) is significant? Or can you open it on your MacBook after it has been created on your Windows 10 laptop?

I tried to load it on my Mac after it was created on my windows 10 box but that DID NOT work! It would only load after it was exported from my windows box.

I can’t explain that - I had no idea that exporting a sermon changed its “Logos state” in any way

I'm currently not able to reproduce this on macOS 10.14.6, I can open previously created sermons. I can also create a Sermon on Windows and have it open on MacOS. I don't have to publish the sermon at all. Does the sermon show up in your documents?

Yes it does show up but opens to a blank page.

8.7 release on the mac still produces a blank tab in the workspace! While this problem is occurring presently in Mac OS Catalina, it was a problem in Mojave as well. This is a SHOW STOPPER for me (at least on my Mac which is my platform of choice).

I cannot produce the behavior you describe on Mojave. This seems to be an issue on Catalina. Did this happen with every sermon on Mojave?

I do believe it did but cannot swear to it.
