I am reading a book on the development of the biblical canon which is jammed packed full of information (that’s a good thing).

What I am wanting to do keep track of when each biblical book was viewed as authoritative, canonical, scripture, etc.
I thought about making a notebook for the resource and then highlighting the text adding a tag each time a read information that I want to remember. I thought that making a tag for each biblical division (Torah, Prophets, etc.) would be better than each individual biblical book. Then later when I want to review my research, I can just search the tags.
Is this the most efficient way to do this or does someone have another idea?
