Logos 4 and the iPad
Hello All,
I am getting near to the point where I am going to invest in an iPad, so I am on the prowl for some basic answers. I have spent the last hour or so wandering the forums and I have not solidified some questions, so I am hoping you might assist.
1. I hear that not all resources are available for the iPad. Is this true?
2. What percentage would you hazard to guess is available? 25%? 50%? 75%?
3. If you close a resource and open it back up later, does it remember where you left off?
4. What is the iPad app missing that the normal version does?
I am trying to figure out if I should invest in an iPad now, or wait for a later version. I carry my laptop around a lot, and would not mind something like the iPad to ease the weight, and the wait (time to turn on, log on and start the app on the laptop).
All views, constructive comments and opinions are greatly appreciated!

The iPad (I think) just uses the iPhone/iPod touch application
1. Yes.
2. About 50-60% are available.
3. Yes.
4. It doesn't have a full word study or exegetical study. It also can't do morph or syntax searches. You also can't run layouts. There are a bunch of other things that you can't do yet and I am sure the rest of the posters will point these out.
But the iPhone and iPad app is a great quick access Bible software tool.

Yes this is true. There are more being added when Logos gets the rights to. I also assume there is some programing needed as well to get the books available.
2. What percentage would you hazard to guess is available? 25%? 50%? 75%?
This depends on your library. I have enough books and of the right type that I am very glad I have it. (touch)
3. If you close a resource and open it back up later, does it remember where you left off?
Yes, It has for me. I have opened in touch then on desktop and back on touch....where ever I was it will be.
4. What is the iPad app missing that the normal version does?
Currently you are unable to do notes and/or highlighting. At least that is what I can tell. Personally, I love being able to read on the go without my laptop. I might want a highlight but that is about all. I am sure things will change in the future with this program. I personally think "this free thing" is the best. I am easy to please.

I don't have this ipad. I am guessing it is somewhat like the touch just bigger. In fact, being that it is a "mini computer" I guess it might be better. I love my touch and the ability to read a few of my books anywhere. I am able to read entire sections on the go and be able to organize my studies when I get back to the desktop!
