OED & Century Dictionaries for PrePub?

Hello,
This was mentioned during the conversation of the Websters 1828 post, but I thought it might be good to Officially mention it in a new post all its own. What would you think about having the OED and Century Dictionaries on PrePub (or Community Pricing if possible).
God Bless!
Douglas

Bob Pritchet, the CEO of Logos, was the one who brought up the Century Dictionary on that other thread. He said he wants to do it. If the CEO wants to do it and it can be done, it will be done.
I'm guessing OED would probably be very tough to get rights to, and even if they could be gotten, I'm guessing they'd be prohibitively expensive. However I've been wanting OED on my computer for a long time. I never bought the CD-ROM version of it that was available as a standalone Windows app directly from the publisher. It was expensive and I didn't want to shell out that much for software the long-term viability of which I didn't trust. But if it were available in Logos format, I'd trust that it would work with my Logos software on into the future no matter what platform I ended up running Logos on.

Hello,
I apologize. I thought that it was just an "out there" suggestion to be "bid" on. I like the idea, and I thought that if he wanted some input on it it from a consumer point of view I would like to help.
Thanks!

Douglas, no worries. No need to apologize. It's hard to communicate tone in online forums. I wasn't chiding you for your post at all, but rather giving you encouragement that your wish for the CD is likely to come to fruition. I think Bob would have been clearer that he was trying to gauge people's interest in this if that was his main intent. I think his post sounded more like a personal revelation of a pet project he'd like to take on. (It's his company so he can do whatever he wants.) I thought it was pretty cool that he was letting us in on his thinking about that. [:)] But of course, I could be wrong, and it never hurts to post here when you have things you'd like to see in Logos. The best way to get them heard by Logos, though, is to email suggest (at) logos (dot) com.
Cheers!

This is precisely why I did not point out to Bob the forum rules against posting active links to outside retail web sites. I figure the next time they have Sunday dinner at Dale's house, Dan can raz him on it. Bob was only sharing how much he liked the Noah Webster Patriot biography. And, It's his company so he can do whatever he wants. [C]

The Century Dictionary is now in pre-pub! When Bob wants to do something, it gets done. [:)]
