I would like a one-click way to add a time stamp to user created documents e.g. notes off all forms
What about a zero-click way? Have it timestamped automatically any time the document changes, and show the timestamp somewhere in the UI in a non-obtrusive way.

That would work for me. I don't know if some would object ... well, there must be some who would [:)]
In L3 there was a header to notes which had this information -- if you wished to open it with WordPad to view it. I'm not even sure where the notes are kept in L4 since I have had so many disappointments with L4 notes.
I'm guessing this timestamp is already inside all user-content, so it can handle sync needs.
We just need a flag so it can be displayed or not. Maybe a tooltip as we hover over somewhere if the screen is too busy?

Not to worry - I've long since used a SQLite browser to view notes in order to trace down copy & paste problems.[:D]

I want the timestamp to be at the note level (or lower) not the note file level. I would assume that this is the level of the synchronization. But I'm not sure that's the information I want. When one generates the bibliography / footnotes for web resources, one needs the date and time accessed. This was the specific need that drove my request.
