I have two monitors set up side by side. I am thinking that one larger monitor might work better for me. What do you suggest? What do you use?
Personally, I don't like a HUGE HONKIN monitor. If there were a need for more space, I'd prefer two monitors so that I could have two apps in their own space. That is MY preference, but I know others like it the other way.
I use 3: a 22 inch, the notebook monitor and my android tablet (10 inch) connected as monitor (Logos in two, and the third with web browser)
I have 2 on my desk, 25" side by side. Main is on the right and left for browser or another app. I also have a 15" laptop on a side desk for 3rd if needed. I find that having 2 side by side keep me from tabbing to active window or perhaps utilizing comparative Bible apps. Sometimes tabbing to active window is such a bother.

I have 2 27" displays side-by-side with Logos windows spread over both (lots of floating windows), with MS Word and Safari in the background. Don't think I would like a single display that would handle that many windows. Besides, one of the displays is a 27" iMac, so I guess a single large screen is out of the question.
I have a nice 32" 4k from LG, under $400 now. Lots of real estate It's currently hooked up to a 2013 MB Pro, but when I get a new computer, I like it enough that I'm gonna add a second one.
I have two monitors. I use one for the main Logos 8 program and float tabs when they get crowded and move them to the second screen. Works well for me.

I think you would be happier with two monitors.
My primary computer is a 27" iMac with Retina Display (5120 x 2880 resolution) with Scaled Display showing More Space (smaller text)
For applications, use several desktops in macOS (since do not need to see all open windows at the same time). Logos fills its own desktop. For forum discussions, have Opera browser, Preview, and Verbum windows on one desktop. Easy to capture screen shot in Logos, switch to Preview (paste image then save), switch to forum reply so can insert image.

FWIW, We own these two monitors. I like them both, and they’ve both had a serious price drop for Black Friday, so I’m picking up a third one.
LG 32” 4K, now $299. (Mine.)
Samsung curved 32” 4k, now $399. (My wife’s office monitor.)
I learned about the price drops through camelcamelcamel.com, which lets you track Amazon prices and get notifications when it drops below a certain price. (Full disclosure, the two screen links are affiliate links to Amazon.) I use mine primarily for Logos and my academic work.
My desktop is a 27" iMac and a 24" secondary monitor. I like having two monitors, and use all of that screen space most of the time.
When I am using my Macbook I tend to use multiple virtual desktops
I currently have two monitors. My main monitor is 27" and the other one is 24". I am looking at upgrading to a 49" curved monitor.
