Question about Emphasis Markup

Is there a way in the iOS app to only do a “Newline After” or a “Newline Before”.  I guess I can sometimes be pretty picky, and I’m trying to format a text in a certain way for my study/preparation, but I’m finding that because I have to use the option “Newline Before and After” it is creating an extra space between two particular lines that I do not want.  If I were able to use a nuanced action like “Newline After” or “Newline Before” then I could avoid this problem.  I apologize if my query is not deal enough, and I very much appreciate any insight you can provide.
