On Android, I'm confused about "All Notes" vs "Notebooks"
I've been having problems with highlights made in a resource on my Android tablet, not syncing properly on my Windows Logos 8. So I was poking around a little on my tablet to see if there was a setting not set properly there. (I doubt that it matters, but the resource is titled "The Lost World of Adam and Eve: Genesis 2-3 and the Human Origins Debate". )
While in the resource on the tablet, I swiped in from the right side of the screen and opened the menu panel that on my tablet, lists a total of 24 menu options, starting with "Help" at the top and ending with "Presentations" at the bottom.
Within that list of 24 menu options is one titled "Notes". Selecting that opens a "Notes" tab/panel with three initial entries:
- All Notes
- Notebooks
- Trash
If I select the first menu option (All Notes), it appears to list ALL the highlights/notes I've made for this resource, starting with the most recent highlights from this week at the top of the list.
But... if I select the second menu option (Notebooks) and scroll down the list to the notebook for "The Lost World of Adam and Eve", it shows I have 469 notes in the notebook but the newest highlights listed are from a year ago.
Shouldn't the notebook for the resource include my current highlights?

Only if you put them in there.
the notebook for "The Lost World of Adam and Eve", it shows I have 469 notes in the notebook but the newest highlights listed are from a year ago.
The OLD system had the ability to place highlights into a "resource specific" note document... that feature is not currently available on mobile. The "notebook" you see was converted from the old note system.

I also have a question about the issue I've been encountering when trying to sync the desktop with highlights/notes made on the tablet, but I'll do a separate thread for that.

Do you know if support is ever going to get the highlights that were made on tablets copied into the appropriate resource notebooks? I sure hope they do!
The desktop and mobile apps have had different protocols for how notes are stored for a very long time. The new notes system is a big advance, but it does mean a few setbacks as well. We used to have the ability on mobile to control if highlights:
- Went into a "pallet" specific note document.
- Went into a "resource" specific note document.
- Went into the "last used" note document (also known as "sticky" since the last used file "sticks" until a new one is chosen).
Hopefully something like this will return soon. [Y]
