Suggestions for the context-menu

Background

Very ironically I was watching a Morris Proctor tutorial on 'High Five Versified Prioritized' which is simply amazing. It shows how you can right-click in a Bible verse and from the context-menu directly open:

- an apparatus on that passage
- the Treasury of Scripture Knowledge on that passage
- harmonies on that passage
- cultural background book on that passage

I have been looking for this feature since I bought Logos 5 in 2013. Now I now how to do it, but the feature isn't available anymore in the context-menu of Logos 8.7.

Suggestions

Would it be possible to anyhow add those features (again) to the context menu of a scripture reference:

• go to any of your five prioritized commentaries
• go to a prioritized apparatus
• go to a prioritized harmony
• go to a prioritized (versified) Bible Background book, like New Manners and Customs of the Bible
• open a prioritized cross-references resource

To me this seems like a basic need for Bible software, am I wrong? I would love some input from Faithlife. I know you guys can do this kind of stuff

When I prioritized a commentary and a harmony above my other Bibles, this still works for me in L8. Or did I misunderstand you?

I would be more inclined to do it through a special parallel collection that this particular trick  --

Click the down arrow to the right of the "Look up" option. This will expand and show all of the options as is seen in MJ's screenshot.

The 'High Five Versified Prioritized' video is about prioritizing 5 versified resources in a way that facilitates the above in the Context menu. Logos 8.7 fundamentally reversed the order of the Information and Command panes, so that you now look on the left hand side for a Reference, and on the right hand side for a Command. The Command(s) of interest are now found under Lookup, where 5 prioritized (versified) resources are listed. Most people would prioritize their top 5 bibles for this, but you can prioritize 

• a Bible
• a bible Apparatus 
• TSK
• a bible Harmony
• a bible Commentary with cultural backgrounds e.g. The New Manners and Customs of the Bible

It's important that these are at the TOP of your prioritize list in Library. Other versified resources can be listed below these, and they will be used if some of your top 5 don't support a particular bible reference.

As stated above, those features depend entirely on how you prioritize your versified resources. If you prioritize as above, there is no room for a bible on the Context Menu. And if you want to go to any of your 5 commentaries, there won't be room for any other books! From one commentary, you can use Parallel Resources to access the others, so there is no need to have 5 commentaries on the Context menu.

Note that you can use Passage Guide (from the Context menu) as a way to access Apparatuses, Harmonies (Parallel Passages), Cross Referencies, and Commentaries.

Many thanks, I had not recognized the resources under look up as they are abbreviated!

And yes, I don't need the Bibles on the Context Menu as I use the arrow keys to navigate them.

Are you saying you created a special parallel collection with only your preferred Bible and then your top versified reference books? Neat!

Yes, that's exactly what I did. It works quite well and is independent of the prioritization.
