Logos 8 mac running very slowly
I've got Logos 8.7 SR-2 running on my mac and it is running super slow. Opening the app, opening a new window layout, and switching between resources causes it to hang for a surprisingly long time before it starts working again. During those hangs, the other apps on the computer are runnning fine and do not seem to be affected. It doesn't look like a memory or disk space issue—Activity Monitor is showing high CPU usage but there's still a good bit of RAM available, minimal paging occuring, and I've got plenty of hard drive space. While my mac is older, resource-intensive apps like the Adobe creative suite apps run just fine, so I don't think it's a hardware issue.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
I enabled logging this morning and have attached the logs that have been updated.

I am not able to read logs, I imagine someone else will read them to know what they show. But I do know the program must index after new resources are added and this can slooooooow it down to a crawl on older machines.
Did you just download the program? Has initial indexing been completed?

I am not an expert log reader. I do see some errors related to a website. I also see some errors related to your ESV RI's (specifically the OT). For the first, you might want to try loading to a blank layout (press and hold the command key immediately upon startup). Then build a simple layout and see if that still causes you trouble. It may be a corrupted layout or a specific feature. As you build up more and more features in your layout, see if something triggers it.
If the issue is related to your RI's, you may need to rebuild an index, but you should wait for a more seasoned log reader to assist.

Its been downloaded for awhile, and indexing has finished. I noticed this slowdown fairly consistently after upgrading to Logos 8.

Just an idea. Quit or force quit. Then restart. Sometimes all the resources don't fully load up and Logos churns. Once everything is loaded, Logos runs much better. It's the loading that bogs it down and then it acts kinda stupid, but once everything is in place, it's golden. Logos seems to remember where it's been when you restart and then it finishes getting into place.

Not sure what the RI's are. I did do the blank layout and things were running smoothly until I opened a personal book (a lectionary format that is just devotional text from various references). So that may be the source of the trouble. I'll keep adding resources to see if I run into other problems.

RI = “Reverse interlinear,” which is the basis for things like original language lookups.
